In the trails of Riverpoint Park, a local sports park in my hometown, resided a homeless encampment. On October 1st, 2024, West Warwick Town Council passed an ordinance to prohibit all homeless sheltering on public property. This vowed to have them out by December of that year, caringly just in time for the winter months. Concerned citizens of West Warwick find it easy to take up arms for something out of sight out of mind, but not for the actions necessary to help those afflicted. The energy used to evict those could instead be used to help. Also included is the ACLU response to the West Warwick Town Council.
